A truly magnificent antique Edwardian natural 1.5ct Burmese ruby statement ring set into solid 18ct yellow gold

Set at the heart of this simple but striking Edwardian treasure, we have a large natural unheated Burmese ruby gemstone. This gem has that wonderful textbook rich blood red colour with hints of raspberry pink. The gem has an astonishing natural glow to it even under munch darker lighting conditions. This gem has that wonderful antique late 19th century cutting and very likely came from an earlier antique treasure that was passed down. It was common for expensive jewels to be repurposed as they were passed down to allow them to be adapted for the styles of the period. The gem is so well protected in this perfect collect setting making this a great treasure to have on the finger for the day to day.
