Taylor Alexandra began with a lifelong passion for gemstones, antique jewellery and the stories held within historic pieces. My earliest memory of jewellery goes back to childhood. My grandmother would pick me up, and I would reach for her pearl necklace, turning it over in my small hands with complete fascination. Looking back, I think that was the moment jewellery made its mark on me.
That fascination never really left. As I grew older, I spent years studying gemstones, diamonds and antique jewellery, learning from diamond cutters, antique jewellers and specialist dealers. I spent countless hours reading, researching and studying old jewellery books, some dating back as far as the eighteenth century.
The more I learned, the more I understood that jewellery is never just about beauty. It is about craftsmanship, history, rarity and the people who once treasured these pieces before us.
At Taylor Alexandra, our aim is to bring collectors rare, unusual and beautifully chosen jewels, pieces with character, quality and a sense of history. We are especially drawn to items that feel distinctive, jewels our collectors may not have seen before, and pieces that deserve to be understood as well as admired.
We are also building an extensive knowledge library at Taylor Alexandra, where you can explore the history of antique jewellery, old cut gemstones, historic craftsmanship and the eras from which these jewels came.
