This gorgeous antique treasure has come from a private collection in Australia who’s family have hailed from both Germany and Russia. This gem has that utterly amazing very hard to find combination of royal papal purple with tones of royal blue that show at the same time. In my view this gem was mined in Russia as only Russian stones had this extraordinary display of colour at this period. However as amazing as the colour is it has to be that rare to find 19th century cutting that just makes this such a special antique treasure. The ring sits so well on the finger and would make such a statement ring for someone. The way the gem plays with the light is just wonderful.
