This incredible antique 19th century survivor has been held in the same private large estate collection for over 120 years that is known. The jewel is believed to have come from the wealthy side of the Prussian family who settled in Kent in around 1910. This jewel is set with a perfectly matched collection of natural untreated Burmese rubies and Ceylon royal blue sapphires & old mine cut diamonds. These stones have been so well put together and set to create this striking floral look. Each of the handmade golden flowers is set with either rubies, sapphire or diamonds. Each set on this wonderful handmade gold & silver branch that is then perfectly finished with a selection of beautiful old rose cut diamonds.
This jewel is a masterpiece very likely made by a master jeweller that would have taken so many man-hours to have made. I just adore this piece in every way, it looks so elegant as a brooch on a jacket or jumper or shirt! Or even as a pendant threaded with a chain from behind. The new owner could add a pendant look if they wished but this would be up to the new custodian.
If you have been looking for that perfect antique gem set brooch, or you just love those rare to find antique jewels this could be a great choice for you.
