A breathtaking vintage 1950s natural 3.4ct Sandawana Zambian emerald & Diamond set platinum statement ring set into solid high grade platinum.

This truly stunning very rare vintage treasure has been held in the same swiss family since it was created in the late 1950s. The ring is featuring one of the worlds rarest and most sought-after emeralds the natural Sandawana Zambian emerald. Discovered in the early 1950s this notable emerald deposit is over 2.6 billion years old! Greater even than the infamous Columbian emerald deposit that dates to around 70 million years ago with some expert claiming it could be as much as 110 million years. However, what makes Sandawana so special is this vivid deep forest green colour that will rival the best Colombian and even the infamous Russian emeralds! This stone.

The central emerald in this ring is probably one of the finest stones I have seen from Zambia. You do not just have that intense forest green colour here you also have a striking level of clarity in this emerald that you very rarely see even in the finest Colombian and Zambian stones. The life and the glow this stone throws out really is something that you have to see to truly appreciate. This dazzling rare gem is then surrounded by a collection of antique Carre cut diamonds and older round brilliant cut diamonds. These diamonds are all so well matched in not only size and colour but more important here in their quality. The diamonds are all that striking ice white colour that do not draw colour at all. I really love the setting here you have a really striking statement look that will have everyone who sees this treasure staring.
