This wonderful antique Edwardian jewel has come from a large private collection southern France. The jewel is set with two very well matched very high-quality old cut amethyst gemstones. These gems have that rare to find pure depth of colour and royal blue that you only usually see in the best gemstones from the Siberian deposit.
I would put my money on these been from that mine site. Either way they are glorious gems and I just love the cutting here. It is so hard to find these unusual cut stones now. Finished with a collection of three natural salt water Pearls this jewel just looks so elegant and refined on the neckline.
